My Favorite Things

To Travel!:

Recently I have received two wonderful opportunities to travel outside of my little circle(Iowa) and go quite some distance. One South and the other North East.

New York City, New York
Radio City, home of the Rockettes!
For my 21st birthday my brother and my wonderful sister-in-law gave me a gift of a life-time! A 3 day trip to New York City!!!!!!-screams like a little girl after seeing Justin Bieber-

Okay, now that I have composed myself, it was a wonderful trip and I knew it from the start by the exciting turn of events of us almost missing our flight in Des Moines International airport.

The highlight to that was me running through the terminal with my shoes in my hand and ticket in the other. I swear, I probably looked like some crazy woman running from the TSA! Luckily I got on the plane with Magda with no more problems.

We had a connecter flight to Memphis, TN. So I can say I actually visited 3 states on my little excursion. Even if I was only there for like 10 minutes tops.
Rockafeller Plaza

Ontop of the Empire state Building
But finally we arrived safe and sound at the airport where we were picked up by Magda's friend Kasia. We had a wonderful time hitting up the town, shopping ,eatting and being merry. When the night was finally over, Magda and I headed to New Jersey where our hotel was and ordered in Chinese Take-Out(YUM YUM)

The next day we had a very BIG day indeed. We saw the Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, and a broadway show known for its Wicked performance.

Day 3 happened and we had to get in a taxi at 4 a.m. Luckily though we didn't have to worry about almost missing our flight this time. ;)

It really was an amazing adventure and I am so greatful that I got to go on this once in a life time adventure. After all who knows if I'll make it out east again ;)

For now I am done traveling(until Taralynn invites me to her home--which I still have yet to see ^^)

But as you can see, I had a very wonderful time. Best birthday gift ever!!!

Dallas, Texas:

The reason why I went to this location all amounts to this building: The Texas School Book Depository. On November 22, 1963 something terrible happened in U.S. history. The president of the United States was shot and killed. JFK was known for his charisma and his care free attitude, but mostly for helping formulate the iconic name of Kennady. Until this day, we will not know 100% certainly who killed JFK, if it truly was Lee Harvey Oswald or if the Mafia, CIA or any other source did it. The confidential reports wont come out until 2029(my life time) so until then. Its still a mystery, but I feel still a lot will be left unanswered.
The Grassy Knoll

Triple Underpass
I went for the JFK Assasination Mayterm at Simpson College. It was a 3 week program where we read the book Four Days in November by Vincent Bugliosi. Its a wonderful book and a VERY easy read if you are into history or want to formulate your own conspiracy on the JFK Assasination.

The first two weeks the class read through the book, watched the Zapruder Film, and walked through the Warren Commisions anaylisis on what "really" happened on that day in November. Honstly I really enjoyed the class and would highly recomend any student that goes to Simpson to take that class. Plus for $200 you get to go to Texas!

We stayed at a Hilton Hotel line (I forget the name xD) And the room was absolutely gorgeous! I shared a room with two wonderful girls(Katie and Ashtyn) and all three of us on day two went to hit up some of Dallas's finest shopping venues. Which was amazing since we don't have my favorite store(Lush) in Iowa.---Spent way too much there!!!

JFK Memorial
It was a very short trip(3 days) But it was amazing and I have lots of memories and made two wonderful, new friends on the trip.

We also went on a tour and got to see every location that was involved with the JFK Assasination, including the Airport in Lovesfield where the Air Force 1 flew in and hundreds of people greeted the Kennady's with love. It's strange to think that such a loved couple in America could ever be victims of such a crime.

Segway Cop!!!
Me on an official Dallas, Tx police segway.

We then went to the museum in the Texas School Book Depository(On the 6th floor of course). They even preserved the window facing Dealy Plaza where they assumed that the shots came from when they found the Snipers nest. Next we went on a walk around tour with a wonderful tour guide(I forget his name) and he took us everywhere from the scene of the crime to where Lee Harvey Oswald fled. We even saw the boarding house where he had lived/ the previous house Lee and his wife had lived together before they had separated.

All and all it was wonderful trip! Question is....Who do you think killed JFK? ;)

My new watch!

I have literally have been wanting one of these since I saw it at American Eagle last summer; however, I never found one I either 1. EXTREMELY was in love with or 2. A price that wouldn’t break me.

Well I found one that fit both those criteria on EBAY!

It’s one of those wrap around watches(you know the ones that come in a huge strand and you literally have to wrap around your wrist).

It looks super cute, reasonably priced(I got mine for 18 dollars, but the person’s website has them for $20, which isn’t bad)

SwankyStuff(the place I got my watch) doesn’t only do watched. They also do other accessories for reasonable prices! I’ll put their website below, please hit them up!
